Finding A Good Real Estate Agent
You've made the decision to sell your home, and you want to sell it through a realtor. The good news is that real estate agents are everywhere. The bad news is that they are not all worth the price you will pay them.
So, how do you find the right one for you? ...Here are some tips to help you:
- Know the agent. If you know the real estate agent, you will know their personality. You will also know if they can actually do the selling for you. Those that are passive are not going to be good sales type people. Those that are dedicated will be. People who honor commitments are excellent individuals to work with. So if you know them, or someone that you trust does, this is a no-brainer.
-
Experience. While experience is not everything to consider with an agent, no doubt those that are more experienced are likely to be more effective. So check into how many homes they've sold and how long it takes them to sell. Keep in mind, though, that some homes are just harder to sell. In any case, trusting someone with selling your home means that you shouldn't be ashamed to find out their level of experience; they stand to make lots of money from you, don't assume anything about them.
-
Price and what they can do. Not all real estate agents can provide the same level of service to you. Those that have the ability to offer you a wider range of options in advertising are a better way to go. Yet, those that have open schedules to dedicate to selling your home are also ideal.
So find out what they charge and what is included in that cost. No mystery here.
Selling a home is (normally) not an easy task. So a good real estate agent can make a big positive difference.
When looking for an agent, above all else you should know that you trust the individual to do the best job that they can with your home; there is a lot to be said for just trusting your instincts about a person. Listen to your "sixth sense."
